I'M HERE, YOU'RE HERE, LET'S TALK BOOKS!!

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/
Hello fellow readers!!!
A month or two ago I was at the Barnes and Noble and I was buying The Summer I Turned Pretty and the Vampire Diaries: The Fury and Dark Reunion, when an announcement came on. They said if you liked Twilight then you should go to the front of the store and meet the author of a new series called The Amoveo Legacy by Sara Taney Humphreys...so curious as I was I walked to the front and she spotted me. She said "Do you like Twilight?" so I said, "I loved Twilight!!!" and she said "That's great then come over here because you'll LOVE my book!!" so i walked over and introduced myself and she talked a little bit about her book...it turns out it's basically EVERYTHING I ever wanted in a book!!! The way she explained it reminds me so much of the Mortal Instruments and any other supernatural book you may like. SO she signed my book and took a picture of me, then she asked if she could take another with her camera and I said yes!! I began reading the book that night. A week or two later I finished the book (it took me a while because of school) and I.was.blown.away.
Here's an excerpt from BarnesandNoble.com:

A dream on Samantha Logan's thirtieth birthday compels her to leave her artist loft in New York City and move back to the beach with her Grandmother, Nonie. However, the instant Samantha steps foot on the salty shores of her childhood home, she realizes the landscape has changed.
The moment she encounters the mysterious, arrogant neighbor Malcolm Drew, her life is never the same. Through a seductive courtship, he introduces her to the magical mystical world of the Amoveo--the dream walking, telepathic, shape shifters that he claims are her true heritage.

Well after the book ended so soon, I wanted it to continue. I was gratified with the fact that there will be another book coming out some time in December (which is here right about now). I highly recommend this book! The characters are so dynamic, and you'll find yourself rooting for the hero and his lady. I've recommended this book to many of my friends over on Pulseit.com, and you may see their  re-recommendations (not positive if that's a word) to you guys on their blogs!
Happy reading!

Since I've read The Amoveo Legacy I must warn you, there are some mature scenes in this book. It's not a teen novel so it's not all fluff like some others on the shelf are. It's still very good and I'm still excited to talk about it. I just don't want you buying the book and realizing "oh no this is way too mature for me" because that wouldn't be cool of me :-)

GET TO KNOW YOUR AUTHORS!!!

Stephenie Meyer
Stephenie Meyer is world renowned for the Twilight Saga. Explaining that the story of Bella and Edward came to her in a dream one night in 2003, Meyer never intended for Twilight to be published, let alone grow such a huge following. In the book we hear the story of another forbidden love, between a vampire boy and a mortal girl, striving for each others affection. It is definitely a must-read for any teenage girl, or boy! Yet, the phenomena doesn't stop there, many parents are also reading Twilight, and loving it!
Excerpt from BarnesandNoble.com:

Isabella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Isabella, the person Edward holds most dear. The lovers find themselves balanced precariously on the point of a knife -- between desire and danger.

Yet even though Twilight is highly suggested by almost any teenage girl you know, many will also tell you to pick up The Host. The Host is a phenomenal story of a girl who is living in the future where an alien life form, called souls, has taken over the earth and all the humans who lived there. The minds of the humans fade after the souls are inserted into their bodys. All is well for the souls looking for a better world, until the the soul called Wanda who was inserted into Melanie Stryder realizes that her "host" hasn't faded.
Excerpt from BarnesandNoble.com:

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed.
Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.
Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves-Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she's never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.

GET TO KNOW YOUR AUTHORS!!!

Scott Westerfeld
Known for his science fiction/fantasy novels, Westerfeld won many of both sci-fi and fantasy readers over with the exceptional story of a new kind of vampire in Peeps.
Excerpt from BarnesandNoble.com
Cal was infected by a parasite that has a truly horrifying effect on its host. Cal himself is a carrier, unchanged by the parasite, but he's infected the girlfriends he's had since Morgan. All three have turned into the ravening ghouls Cal calls Peeps. The rest of us know them as vampires. It's Cal's job to hunt them down before they can create more of their kind. . . .
He has also written other notable books worth reading like the Midnighters Series. This series takes us on a ride into an unknown time called the midnight hour, or the blue time. In the first installment of the Midnighters series we learn about the secret hour which is the hour that normal human beings can not experience. It is at exactly midnight, when time stops, and only those who were born at the stroke of midnight can experience it. A group of only a few teenagers in a town called Bixby try to figure out the extra hour of the day, while also figuring out the dangerous and scary creatures that lurk the night during that special hour.
Excerpt from BarnesandNoble.com:
For one secret hour each night, the town belongs to the dark creatures that haunt the shadows. Only a small group of people know about the secret hour — only they are free to move about the midnight time.
These people call themselves Midnighters. Each one has a different power that is strongest at midnight: Seer, Mindcaster, Acrobat, Polymath. For years the Midnighters and the dark creatures have shared the secret hour, uneasily avoiding one another. All that changes when the new girl with an unmistakable midnight aura appears at Bixby High School.

About Me

My photo
I am the Book Genie!! I love reading with all of my heart, (I'm a little dramatic sometimes) and it's an obsession I have to live with. New titles on the teen novel shelves makes my heart beat faster. I've read many books, and I've developed a love for all different types of them. I love making websites and animations, but most of all I love making movies. I want to pursue a career in the movie making industry later on in life. I would also love to start writing novels and screenplays. My family is the most important part about me, because they have taught me everything I know. My pets are also important to me, as are all the animals we feed and save.
