I'M HERE, YOU'RE HERE, LET'S TALK BOOKS!!

LOCK & KEY BY SARAH DESSEN

(WARNING: THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS) I just finished reading "Lock and Key" by Sarah Dessen at about 4Am this morning. I can't believe what an amazing book it turned out to be,  I honestly can't. I didn't think the book was going to become such an inspirational page turner, considering at first I didn't like the book very much. But I really shouldn't doubt Sarah Dessen, I know better than to do that.
At first the book seemed to be speaking about her past too much, but then when I analyzed the book I realized that's exactly what the book needed. All of her past and her present intertwined perfectly. I loved how Sarah Dessen used Nate to prove that in order to save yourself sometimes you have to save someone else first. I think it was the perfect scenario. And the fish? That was just plain adorable. I think the fish in some way represented Nate, because he was sent to live with his dad, and the fish was taken out of it's home and sent to live with Ruby, and of course they both swim. And in the end the fish survived, and so did Nate. Haha but that's just a little side note that I noticed later on.

So while reading the last few pages last night I suddenly got inspired to write about friendship, and what it actually means. I just began writing and writing and I couldn't stop, and the things I was saying were happy and sad all at once and I started crying. I'm so silly sometimes hahahaha.

But anyway. The book is absolutely awesome and I would recommend it to anyone. I really do. It's great for everyone to read because it really does teach you what it means to be a friend and what family truly means.
Go pick the book up, right now!!! Seriously!!!

Here's an excerpt from the synopsis on Barnes and Noble.com:

Ruby is used to taking care of herself. But now she's living in a fancy new house with her sister Cora—a sister she hasn't seen in ten years—and her husband Jamie—creator of one of the most popular online networking sites. She's attending private school, wearing new clothes, and for the first time, feels the promise of a future that include college and her family. So why is she so wary? And what is Nate— the adorable and good-hearted boy next door— hiding behind his genial nature? As Ruby starts to see, there's a big difference between being given help, and being able to accept it. And sometimes, in order to save yourself, you've got to reach out to someone else.

So if you're looking for a good 'pick me up' book, or simply just preparing for books for your summer reading, definitely pick this book up!!

I'm HERE, YOU'RE HERE, LET'S TALK BOOKS!!

I'm feeling a complete and TOTAL WITHDRAWAL!!!!! You ask why? I'll tell you why. Because I just finished the book "Hush, Hush" by Becca Fitzpatrick. (THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THIS BLOG!!!)I can't believe that i waited so long to read that book. I am so tempted to re-read it again tonight. I am seriously considering it. It's completely and utterly amazing, there is no reason that anyone wouldn't read it, unless they're allergic to amazing. I can not get over the fact that Patch is so amazing and sexy (I can't think of any other synonyms for amazing). His sarcastic remarks complete the most perfect personality. AND the fact that he falls in love with her is just...okay I really can't think of any words so let me describe how I felt when reading: HAHAHAH OHMYGOSH...hehehe ahhhh ahaha ohmygosh so cute!!!!.....yes. that was me, by myself in my room, laughing at 2:30 AM reading this book. I could not believe how much I could fall in love with a character AGAIN, after being totally in love with Jace, Edward, Damon, Stefan, and a bunch of others (I thought my heart couldn't handle any more love!!!). I bookmark quotes that I love in books with little arrow stickers, and I had so many in this book, and some of them were because the scene was way too good to forget!!!!! I've been thinking about the book all day since I finished it, and it was so good that I keep getting butterflies when i think about it.
I'm listening to "Heaven Can Wait" by We the Kings, and it's making me feel like I should probably go re-read "Hush, Hush". Don't ask why. I have no clue. But the song makes me remember the book lol
Here's a synopsis from BarnesandNoble.com:

For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along.
With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.
But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.

5/5 stars doesn't even cut it. This book gets 11/5 stars!!!!It's too much of an amazing book, not to spread the love. So all of you out there who have read the book pass on the word. Tell all your friends to read it, and your boyfriends, and whoever you see at the grocery store. I'm completely serious. lol

Swoon by Nina Malkin

Hello fellow readers!!!
I am completely aware that I brag about every single book I blog about. I'm fickle, so what? right? I just simply love almost every book I read.
Anyway, the past few days I have been reading Swoon by Nina Malkin and I am completely blown away. I was expecting a lot when I first started reading the book because it was suggested to me with such high honors, yet I am always skeptical when picking up a book (though they always turn out well, go figure ). I was shocked when I found out how amazing the book was. A little different than the other books I've read, in that it was more mature. I warn you it's inappropriate for younger teens and children. Yet that doesn't take away it's wow factors. The dialogue, and Sin himself, was enough to keep me reading---if the plot didn't do the trick. I highly recommend reading this book. It has many reviews if you'd like to check them out. Here is also an excerpt from BarnesandNoble.com:

Torn from her native New York City and dumped in the land of cookie-cutter preps, Candice is resigned to accept her posh, dull fate. Nothing even happens in Swoon, Connecticut...until Dice's perfect, privileged cousin Penelope nearly dies in a fall from an old tree and her spirit interwines with that of a ghost. His name? Sinclair Youngblood Powers. His mission? Revenge and while Pen is obvious to the possession, Dice is all too aware of Sin. She's intesely drawn to him—but not at all crazy abolut the havoc he's wreaking.
Determined to exorcise the demon, Dice accidentally sets Sin loose, gives him flesh, makes him formidable. Now she must destroy an even more potent—and irresistible—adversary before the whole town succumbs to Sin's will. Only trouble is, she's in love with him.
What do you do when the boy of your dreams is too bad to be true?

I definitely would give Swoon 5/5 stars!!! I really liked the way the book took place in two time periods, it was such an interesting style to me. The ending, although left me hanging with SOOOOO many questions, only has me wanting so much more.  With an ending like this one, you won't be able to stop yourself from guessing what happens next.
Anyway, I highly recommend this book, it's amazing!

About Me

My photo
I am the Book Genie!! I love reading with all of my heart, (I'm a little dramatic sometimes) and it's an obsession I have to live with. New titles on the teen novel shelves makes my heart beat faster. I've read many books, and I've developed a love for all different types of them. I love making websites and animations, but most of all I love making movies. I want to pursue a career in the movie making industry later on in life. I would also love to start writing novels and screenplays. My family is the most important part about me, because they have taught me everything I know. My pets are also important to me, as are all the animals we feed and save.
