Photoshoot

Hello fellow readers :)
Today I worked on some awesome photos of my shoe collection! I took a bunch of black and white photos, and I then developed the negatives. Tomorrow I will be checking them out and possibly printing some of them. I'm very excited :D....BUT the reason I'm blogging about this, is because my next project will be a photoshoot with my BOOKS!!!! I will take some really cool black and white's of all of my books maybe scattered on the floor (carefully of course lol) and then some of them on the shelves, some up close, some of my favorites all together. I'll figure out how exactly I'm going to do it, then I'll shoot!...the camera...Then when I develop and print them, I will post them on here :) It should be fun!

Anyway, in other news....more and more people have been signing up for the Newsletter, which is exciting. And Both Were Young, by Madeleine L'Engle

And Both Were Young, Madeleine L'Engle
The title of this book was the first thing that got it onto my 'to-read' list. For about a year and a half I had it on my list, and I didn't get around to buying it. Boy I wish I got it sooner. From the very first page I could NOT put this baby down. This was an emotional and beautiful book, about friendship and family of all forms. The history aspect was amazing, as we get a glimpse of a time period which we will never actually get to see in person. L'Engle does an amazing job at showing character development, as we witness each character grow and blossom into their or beautiful person.
It is also, what the readers will find out, a mystery. This book contains an element from a wide variety of different categories. Mystery, romance, friendship, school life, historical fiction, and war time.

I can't stress enough, how truly beautiful this book is.
At first, I didn't realize that this was written in another time period, and I had never read any of L'Engle's work. But I noticed the language was different, and then I looked at the year published and I was stunned. I usually don't read books that were written such a long time ago, but I think my mind has changed completely. If anything, after this book, I have a different take on older literature. I definitely have a broader horizon in my library, and I'm happy to say that Madeleine L'Engle is now one of my favorite authors.

It is a beautiful novel until the very end, and it is a novel that I will continue to read over and over. I would recommend this to every level of readers, and every age!!! From pre-teen, to mature women.

Go out,  buy this, and I promise you I won't regret it

Feast of Fools (Morganville Vampires Series #4), by Rachel Caine

Once again Rachel Caine has stunned readers with her talent and hot angst-ridden-anti-vampire-boys.....oh and we can’t forget the few non-revengeful-hot-vamps on the way...
Excerpt from Barnes and Noble.com:
In Caine's fourth Morganville Vampires novel, the arrival of an old-school vampire to Claire Danvers's college town threatens the relative harmony that exists between the living and the dead.
Yes let's get right down to it...
This book starts off at the end of the third book, Midnight Alley, which ended with a cliff hanger. OBVIOUSLY. Because Rachel Caine loves to leave her faithful readers wanting more, each and every time. And let me tell you, if you haven’t picked up this series yet, you are missing out on an adventure of a lifetime! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? You will want to LIVE in this book. I promise you.
It is unlike other vampire books, as the vampires stay bad, for quite a while. Yet, as you go on things change within the town of Morganville, as you will see, and not everything is so clear anymore.
This was an excellent addition to the series, and it happens to be one of my favorites. The suspense KILLS in this book, and it honestly has to be one of the top books on my ‘throw-at-wall-list.’ Because there are moments where I literally wanted to throw the book at the wall.
In Caine’s series you realize that everything happens for a reason. Not anything in the book gets attention without having a reason behind this. You must pay attention to fine detail. I love that about this series. I also love the characters. It’s sometimes hard to follow the characters in a book if they are un-relatable, or they lack personality. And sometimes all of them blend together. Yet, in this particular series, it is very easy to see each character in your mind, where the characters grow and roam the green green lands of Idris....oh wait, wrong series ;)
Anyway, I recommend this series to anyone that enjoys a good suspenseful, mysterious, paranormal, vampire-filled, friendship, love, wanna-live-in-the-book, *takes a breath*, series.
Enjoy reading :)

Infinity (Chronicles of Nick Series) by Sherrylin Kenyon

Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon
I have never read a zombie book before this one. And if you had told me this would have them in it, I probably wouldn’t have read it. BUT I’m glad that I did. It was very entertaining, because Kenyon had a way of making difficult and almost terrifying situations, into funny and awkward situations. I loved the humor that was spastically placed throughout the novel, when you wouldn’t think that humor would be an option.
Here's a short synopsis from Barnes and Noble.com:

At fourteen, Nick Gautier is sucked into the realm of the Dark-Hunters: immortal vampire slayers who risk everything to save humanity.

Interested already huh? Told you so! The plot was very structured, and you can tell that a lot of thought went into the story-line. I loved the characters the most. Each one had their own spunky personality. Simi and Nick were my favorites, and of course Bubba. It took me a while to read this book but not because it wasn’t good. In fact, thats the actual reason why it took me so long. I would read in between stressful study sessions, and when I was bored, and it acted as such a great getaway that I didn’t want it to end.

If you enjoy paranormal books, or even books about friendship, you should pick this up at your local bookstore or library!

About Me

My photo
I am the Book Genie!! I love reading with all of my heart, (I'm a little dramatic sometimes) and it's an obsession I have to live with. New titles on the teen novel shelves makes my heart beat faster. I've read many books, and I've developed a love for all different types of them. I love making websites and animations, but most of all I love making movies. I want to pursue a career in the movie making industry later on in life. I would also love to start writing novels and screenplays. My family is the most important part about me, because they have taught me everything I know. My pets are also important to me, as are all the animals we feed and save.
